Fitting Discs

• Turn off sander and unplug from mains power.
• Use the disc release spanner to fit/remove discs. Locate disc centrally on sanding pad. (For advanced edger, simply press Velcro backed disc onto sanding disc pad.)
• Make sure disc is aligned in the centre of the disc plate to avoid damage to disc plate.

• Switch off sander.
• Push dust-bag into place and close clips. To release, undo clips and gently manoeuvre bag off machine.

WARNING! Always wear respiratory protection when emptying sander dust-bag.
WARNING! Empty sander dust-bag when 1/4 full.
WARNING! Empty sanding dust into fire proof container and store outside.

Switching On & Off

• Check dust bag is secure.
• Push power switch to on, start sanding.
• To stop push/release power button.

Sanding Technique

If the machinery does not sand smoothly, call the office immediately. You are responsible for all damage to hire machines.

1. Make sure area to be sanded is fully and safely prepared. Make sure area to be sanded is clear. Check electrical supply is safe and operational.
2. Keep your back straight in order to avoid damaging your back. Kneel down and work or work with bent knees.
3. Never force the sanding machine! if it is not cutting, change to fresh abrasive.
4. Gently sweep the machine over the area to be sanded. Heavy handed edging can lead to ringing in the wood.
5. Start sanding at the highest grit to achieve your goal i.e. avoid sanding with 24grit if you can start at 40grit. This will avoid excess wood loss and sanding time.

WARNING! Use extreme caution when sanding near radiator pipes or cables. Edging machines can cut metal and cables in an instant.
