SANDED FLOOR CLEANING AND MAINTAINING

How to Clean & Maintain your Sanded Floor

All sanded wooden floors require care and maintenance to keep them looking fresh and clean.

Maintenance frequency will depend on the type of seal, traffic conditions and cleaning technique. In order to keep your floors looking beautiful and to prolong seal life we recommend following our basic guide.

Recommended Cleaning Products

Detergent:
Polyurethane Seals               Deter
Wax Oil Seals                         Wash & Care

Polish:
Polyurethane Seals               Pronto
Wax Oil Seals                         Liquid Wax Cleaner

Basic Tips

  • Always use a recommended cleaning product: avoid harsh detergents and bleach products which will destroy the seal.
  • Light soiling, daily cleaning: Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove dust or dry soiling.
  • Heavy Soiling, as and when necessary: We recommend using a damp mop (not wet) and correct cleaning detergent (Deter) dilute in water. Dry the floors off with a clean floor cloth wrapped around a broom afterwards.

Restoring the polish sheen

When the surface dulls, use the correct polish and/or cleaner. Pour Pronto polish onto a damp cloth and wipe over the floor, leave to dry. Liquid Wax Cleaner is poured onto a cloth and wiped over the floor, then left to dry.

Advanced Maintenance

Advanced maintenance plans are available for both commercial and domestic clients please click here for more details.

In order to avoid having to incur repeated costs of sanding, floors should be recoated as soon as they start to show signs of wear which cannot be removed by the above cleaning procedures.

Recoating a sanded floor is a relatively simple process that is much cheaper than stripping and will mean that the professional finish on your floors will last indefinitely.
