Abrasives come in different degrees of coarseness, or grits, as well as different materials, such as Aluminium Oxide or Silion Carbide.The lower the number, the coarser the grit.

Typically, you will require:

24grit - initial cutting of the floor

40grit - coarse polishing cut

80grit - medium polishing cut

120grit - fine polishing

Difference components in the abrasive will affect sanding and cutting ability as well as durability:
